Golfer Greg Norman puts his incredible USD 55million Florida mansion up for sale - complete with its own putting green, 165ft deep water dock and resort style swimming pool.

Norman, 61, has decided to sell his 26,000-square-foot property - called 'Tranquility' - on the ultra-exclusive Jupiter Island, and the listing makes for fascinating reading.

While most houses are categorised by their number of bedrooms, this property is described as having seven separate buildings. As well as the colonial-style main home, the other main buildings on this eight-acre slice of paradise are a two-bedroom oceanside guesthouse with a six-car garage and a three-bedroom carriage house with four-car garage.

'Tranquility presents the opportunity to wake each day to an enchanting waterside environment filled with the finest sporting and entertainment venues that include a tennis pavilion, resort style pool area with Polynesian style grill house, a putting green, complete gym, game room, home theater, beachside activities and boating,' says the appointed real estate broker.

On top of all that there is a 165-foot deep water dock ready to house the buyer's luxury yacht, with the property stretching from the Atlantic on one side of the island to the Intracostal waterway on the other. A 'refreshing world of verdant forested landscaping' sits in between, featuring huge lawns and towering palm trees.

The main house, built in 1902, contains a modest four bedrooms, although there are seven and a half bathrooms to compensate. There are old touches such as vaulted wood ceilings and fireplaces, as well as luxuries such as a wet bar, sun room and den. The gourmet kitchen features appliances by Wolf, Miele, Traulsen, Subzero and Bosch.

There is also 50-foot swimming pool, surrounded by 'whimsical stone platypus water spouts', a diving board, and the aforementioned Polynesian-style grillhouse for a barbecue with a difference.

Norman is a legend of his sport, having won two major championships - The Opens at Turnberry in 1986 and Royal St George's in 1993 - and 90 tournaments worldwide.

Despite spending 331 weeks - over six years - as world No 1, Norman's total of two majors was a relative underachievement for such a colossal talent. He finished second at least twice in the other three majors.

But in the business world, Norman has been an unqualified success. His Great White Shark Enterprises boasts businesses ranging from golf course design to eyewear, prime beef products, wine production, and asset-based debt lending.

Norman's near neighbours include singer Celine Dion and fellow golfing legend Tiger Woods.
